It took a good part of an afternoon to get this out of the ground.
The tree grew too well and too in a suburban environment and needed to come out. Big Tree Supply could not save it in that they could not get a hydraulic spade truck into the back yard.
I took the ladies fence apart to get the 60" + diameter rootball out of the yard. The lady helped me drag it on a tarp across the front yard and into the back of my truck.
This tree has more of a fibrous root ball and not much of a tap root. At 14' tall and being an evergreen I was worried this would be pretty much a goner. You can see a brown doughnut shaped water bag. This holds 15 gallons of water that drains over a day. This kept the ground nice and moist through the hot parts of the summer. Nice place for tree frogs to hang out.
